Diljit Dosanjh (born 6 January 1984) is an Indian-born American singer, actor, and film producer known for his work in Punjabi and Hindi cinema. He gained international recognition after appearing on Billboard’s Social 50 chart in 2020 and has featured on several global music charts, including the Canadian Albums Chart, the UK Asian Chart, and the New Zealand Hot Singles chart. His films, such as Jatt & Juliet 2, Sajjan Singh Rangroot, Honsla Rakh, and Jatt & Juliet 3, rank among the highest-grossing Punjabi films of all time.
Diljit Dosanjh was Born in Dosanjh Kalan in Punjab’s Jalandhar district, Dosanjh began his music career in 2002. He rose to prominence with albums like Smile (2005) and Chocolate (2008), followed by the hugely successful The Next Level (2009), a collaboration with Yo Yo Honey Singh. In 2010, he made a cameo appearance in the Punjabi film Mel Karade Rabba and soon transitioned into acting, making his debut as a lead actor in The Lion of Punjab (2011).
Diljit Dosanjh entered Bollywood in 2016 with the critically acclaimed crime drama Udta Punjab. His performance earned him the Film fare Award for Best Male Debut and a nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He later received another Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role in Good Newwz (2019). By 2020, he had won the PTC Award for Best Actor five times and had also served as a judge on three seasons of the reality television show Rising Star.
In 2024, Diljit Dosanjh launched his highly successful Dil-Luminati Global Tour, performing across Europe in cities throughout France, England, Ireland, Italy, and the Netherlands.
