Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab kicked off 2026 on a high note at the box office, collecting ₹63.3 crore in India on its opening day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned ₹54.15 crore on Friday, along with ₹9.15 crore from special preview shows held across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala.
The horror drama generated significant pre-release buzz as it marked Prabhas’ first film in the genre. While audience response has been mixed to negative—many praising Prabhas’ performance but criticising the film’s plot—the strong opening underscores his continued box office pull. Notably, The Raja Saab surpassed the day-one collection of 2025’s biggest opener, Chhaava, which earned ₹31 crore.
Advance bookings saw the sale of around 5.62 lakh tickets, generating ₹28.09 crore. The Telugu version recorded a solid 57.16% occupancy, while Hindi and Tamil versions saw lower occupancies of 15.63% and 22.69% respectively.
All eyes are now on the weekend performance, which will determine whether The Raja Saab can sustain momentum amid competition from upcoming releases, including Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.
