IND-vs-PAK-Richa-Ghosh-200-strike-rate-innings

Despite India recording a convincing victory over Pakistan in the Women’s T20 World Cup, wicket-keeper Richa Ghosh became the star of the show with her match-winning performance.

Richa turned the match on its head in style when India failed to up their scoring rate in the final overs of the match. In a span of four successive deliveries in the 19th over, Richa scored 18 runs, including three fours and a six, to turn the tide in India’s favor.

The 22-year-old scored 34 off only 17 deliveries at a stunning strike rate of 200 from the No. 6 slot. Her explosive hitting helped India reach a competitive score of 170.

In the process, she scored the highest run tally by any Indian batsman batting at No. 6 or below in the history of Women’s T20 World Cup matches. Before her batting masterclass, Smriti Mandhana had scored half-centuries. On the other hand, Deepti Sharma was brilliant with the ball, scalping five wickets in the process.

Thus, India recorded a comprehensive victory against Pakistan.
