The India women’s national cricket team began their T20I series on a positive note by defeating the Australia women’s national cricket team by 21 runs via the DLS method in a rain-hit match played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
India decided to bowl first and restricted the Australia women’s team to 133/10 in their innings, thanks to a magnificent spell of bowling by Arundhati Reddy, who took 4 wickets. Georgia Wareham scored the top score of 30 for Australia in just 10 balls.
India started their innings positively by reaching 50/1 in less than six overs when the rain interrupted the play. As India were leading, the match was abandoned, and they were declared winners via the DLS method.
