Mild earthquake tremors were felt across Delhi-NCR and parts of North India on Friday night around 9:50 PM, creating brief panic among residents.

According to early reports, the earthquake measured around 5.8–5.9 magnitude, with its epicentre near the Afghanistan–Tajikistan border. Seismological agencies confirmed the quake struck at a depth of about 150 km, which is why tremors were felt across multiple regions, including Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.

Several people shared their experiences on social media, saying the tremors lasted only a few seconds but were strong enough to be noticed, especially in high-rise buildings. Some residents even stepped out of their homes as a precaution.

There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries so far. Authorities are monitoring the situation, and further official confirmation on details is awaited.
