Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan, opened at around ₹31.5 crore on Day 1, but its performance was impacted by the massive buzz around Dhurandhar 2.
Released during Ugadi, the film saw decent occupancy of nearly 70% in Telugu states. However, compared to typical big-star openings and Pawan Kalyan’s previous blockbuster OG, the numbers are considered below expectations.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh, dominated the box office with over 75% occupancy in the same regions. The film’s Telugu dubbed version also performed strongly, contributing to its massive reach.
Trade reports suggest Dhurandhar 2 earned over ₹100 crore across India in a single day, creating tough competition. In several centres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, audiences preferred the Bollywood action thriller over the local release, affecting Ustaad Bhagat Singh’s opening momentum.
