Senior journalist and founding editor of Lallantop, Saurabh Dwivedi, has resigned from the India Today Group, ending his 12-year-long association with the organisation. His exit was confirmed on Monday, January 5.
Dwivedi shared the announcement through a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, where he quoted lines from renowned Urdu poet Nasir Kazmi, reflecting on change and continuity. In his message, he expressed gratitude to Lallantop for the respect, learning, and opportunities he received, while hinting at a new professional chapter after a short break.
Saurabh Dwivedi began his journey with the group as a Features Editor at AajTak.in before taking charge of Lallantop. Under his leadership, the digital platform grew into one of India’s most influential Hindi news brands, especially popular among young audiences. His storytelling style, in-depth interviews with political leaders and celebrities, and conversational journalism helped Lallantop create a strong emotional connect with viewers.
Reacting to his departure, India Today Group Vice Chairperson Kalli Purie praised Dwivedi’s contribution, stating that she was proud of the work he built over the years. She also acknowledged that Dwivedi had been keen to explore creative opportunities beyond the group’s current media portfolio.
Following his exit, Kuldeep Mishra will take over full editorial responsibility for Team Lallantop, while Rajat Sain will head the production division.
Dwivedi’s resignation marks the end of an era for Lallantop, as the platform prepares to move forward under new leadership.
