India registered an impressive victory over arch-rivals Pakistan by 61 runs in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, securing a spot in the Super 8 round without suffering a single loss.
India batted first and scored 175/7, thanks to an electrifying knock of 77 from 40 deliveries by Ishan Kishan. Middle-order contributions also played a crucial role in India reaching a respectable total on a difficult surface.
Chasing a target of 176, Pakistan could only muster 114 runs, with Usman Khan scoring 44 to top the list. India’s bowling unit maintained strict discipline, with Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, and Jasprit Bumrah claiming two wickets each to register a comprehensive victory.
This win marks India’s third consecutive victory in the group stage, while Pakistan find themselves in a do-or-die situation to continue their campaign in the tournament.
