Shraddha Kapoor is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films. Shraddha is one of India’s highest-paid actresses, She has been featured in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list since 2014 and was featured by Forbes Asia in their 30 Under 30 list of 2016.
She started her acting career with a small part in the 2010 heist movie Teen Patti, the daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor. She then landed her first major role in the 2011 teen drama Luv Ka The End. She won the Stardust Award for Best Actress for the latter. In the hugely popular love musical Aashiqui 2, She made her big screen debut as a vocalist. For this role, she was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She played an Ophelia-like role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s critically acclaimed ensemble drama Haider the next year.

Shraddha was born on 3 March 1987 in Mumbai. On her father’s side, Shraddha is of Punjabi descent, and on her mother’s side, Shraddha is of Marathi and Konkani descent. .Her maternal grandmother was from Panaji, Goa, and her paternal family was from Kolhapur. Her maternal grandfather, Pandharinath Kolhapure, was the nephew of Deenanath Mangeshkar and the first cousin of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. As her maternal relatives lived in Maharashtra, Kapoor disclosed in an interview with The Hindustan Times that she was reared in a Marathi cultural environment. She has admitted to having a tomboyish phase as a child and claiming to have a strong attitude, which led her to pick fights with males on purpose.
