In an effort to refute speculations regarding the resignation of Deepak Prakash, who holds ministerial position, Bihar CM, Samrat Choudhary said that the latter will stay in office as he has not been elected to any legislative House. The Constitution does allow a person to hold ministerial position during a specific time, he added. Choudhary also pointed out that he himself was holding ministerial position for quite some time, but was not a member of any of the Houses.
The Chief Minister once again emphasized the government’s firm attitude to encroachments, stating that no relief would be offered to people residing on the government lands illegally. “Be it any kind of mansion or small building, the government will take necessary steps against all constructions made on government lands,” he added.
Regarding the issue of prohibition, Samrat Choudhary clearly said that liquor ban imposed in Bihar would be strictly implemented. The Chief Minister even paid his respects to Lalu Prasad Yadav, RJD president, thus refuting allegations about political motives of certain actions concerning Rabri Devi’s official residence.
