Vijay Kavish

Vijay Kavish was born in Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, India. He is an Indian Television Actor & Film Actor who is known for his work in the Hindi television series and Bollywood movies. He is best known for portraying the roles of Lord Shiva, Maharishi Valmiki and Mayasura (Father-in-law of Ravana) in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan (1987) & Luv Kush (1989).

Biography

Vijay Kavish was born and raised in Mumbai. His father was a dialogue writer and hence it didn’t take him long to find a place in the entertainment industry. He made his acting debut through Bollywood film Salma in the year 1985. He, however, came to prominence after he played the triple role of Lord Shiva, Mayasura, and Maharishi Valmiki in the much-acclaimed series Ramayan. His performance made him a household name in India. Before Ramayan, he has also worked in the series Andar Bahar. After Ramayan, he got flooded with offers and acted in acclaimed series such as ‘Sri Krishna’ and ‘Vikram Aur Betaal’ among others. In addition to series, he was also seen in Bollywood films like Armaan, and Phool among others. He though is best remembered for playing various characters in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan in the late 1980s.
