Trisha Krishnan is an Indian actress and model who primarily works in Tamil and Telugu language films. She was noticed after winning several beauty pageant like the Miss Chennai contest 1999 which marked her entry into the film industry.
Early Life And Education
Trisha was born on 4 may 1983 in Madras Tamil Nadu to Krishnan and Uma. she completed her schooling at the Sacred Heart Matriculation School in Church Park Chennai and later pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration course at the Ethiraj College for Women Chennai. She ventured into Modelling and appeared in several print and television commercials. In 1999 she won the Miss Selam beauty pageant and later the same year Miss Chennai contest. She had also won the Miss India 2001 beautiful smile award.
Trisha’s residence is in Chennai. She lives there with her mother and grandmother. Her father died in October 2012. She is fluent in English, Hindi,Tamil and French. On 23 January 2015 Trisha became engaged to Varun Manian, Chennai based businessman, in May 2015 she confirmed that the couple had ended their engagement.
Career
Soon after the pageant success Trisha began her acting career in a supporting role as a Simran friend in ‘Jodi’. Her first release was Amir’s Mounam pesiyadhe opposite Surya SivaKumar.
Trisha appeared in Falguni Pathak’s music video Meri Chunar Ud Jaaye as Ayesha Takia’s friend which was directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. She was later approached for an acting role in the Tamil movie Lesa Lesa South Indian director Priyadarshan which marked the beginning of her professional career as an actress.
She later Rose to Fame starring in the successful films Seemy, Ghilli, Aaru, Varsham, and Athadu. She secured her first Filmfare Award for Best Telugu actress in a lead role for Varsham in 2004. She was seen in her career best performances in Abhiyum Naanum, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Kodi and 96 for which she won critical acclaim and various Accolades. In 2010 she made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar in Khatta Meetha.
