Biography
Sutapa Sikdar was born and raised in Delhi. She is an alumnus of National School of Drama where she served as storyteller and screenwriter. She started off her career by writing the script of the popular television series “Banegi Apni Baat” in the year 1993. Her husband late Irrfan Khan also acted in this series. She made her Bollywood debut by writing the dialogues of the film Khamoshi: The Musical. After that, she wrote screenplay of some of the most famous Bollywood films such as Shabd, Khaani, and Supari among others. In 2016, she turned producer and made her debut with the acclaimed film Madaari. In 2017, she produced the Bollywood film Qarib Qarib Single which garnered positive reviews but failed to attract audiences at the box-office.
