Sushma Swaraj plan missing 14 minutes communication

It was not less than any scary incident for Indian people. It was a Saturday evening when external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj was traveling from Trivandrum to Mauritius. She was on a jaunt to South Africa. Amid the travel, the link with the flight was missed. The scare happened when Mauritian air traffic control experienced failure in linking. She was traveling via Indian Air Force aircraft ‘Meghdoot’.Actually, the plane entered the island nation’s airspace. As soon as this incident happened, everyone was shocked. Mauritius soon declared “INCERFA” alarm. This alarm is used to denote an uncertainty phase. This refers to the situation where it is not known if the aircraft and its occupants are safe. It is not known if the people are alive or not.

The AAI put out a press release after the incident. It confirmed that Mauritius had indeed activated INCERFA. It was the first stage of emergency which existed from 4.44pm to 4.58pm. It was the toughest time for the commoners. Everyone prayed for the long life of the minister. Everyone took a breath when a contact was detected. It is worth mentioning that Sushma Swaraj was not traveling alone. Senior MEA officials, including Secretary (Economic Relations) TS Tirumurti, were also traveling along with her.

Those 14 minutes were very frightening for people. Fortunately VVIP plane finished with the first stage itself. It was like a nightmare for people. Atleast the minister was safe.
