The Supreme Court on 1st October 2020 has refused to postpone the civil services
preliminary exam that is to be held on 4th October 2020 due to the fact of floods and the
COVID-19 pandemic. Krishna Murari, B R Gavai, and A M Khanwilkar were the bench of justices thar requested the center to give the students another chance who may not be able to appear in the last attempt the entire pandemic. The center has strictly refused the plea of clubbing the UPSC civil service exam of 2021 & 2021, as the center said this would create a full cascading effect.

UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) has opposed all the pleas by stating that all the
necessary precautions have been taken, and proper arrangements have been made to host the exam.
