Soumitra Chatterjee Age, Biography and Wiki
Soumitra Chatterjee was born on January 19, 1935. He was an Indian film actor who was seen in some popular films, such as Abhijan (1963), Baghini (1969), and Ashani Sanket (1974). Soumitra Chattopadhyay was also the first Indian film personality accoladed with Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, France’s highest award for artists. He was also a recipient of Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Soumitra Chatterjee Death Reason or Cause
In October 2020, Chatterjee tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently admitted in Belle Vue Clinic, Kolkata. On 15 November 2020, Chatterjee died due to COVID-19 induced encephalopathy in Kolkata. Soumitra Chatterjee is survived by his wife Deepa Chatterjee, son Sougata and daughter Poulami Bose.

Soumitra Chatterjee completed his graduation in Bengali Literature from the City College, Kolkata with honors in Bengali literature. While still a student, he learned acting under noted actor-director of Bengali theatre Ahindra Choudhury.
