Santosh Anand is an Indian lyrics writer who attended success in Hindi movies in the 1970s. He earned Filmfare Award for Best lyricist in 1974 and 1982. He wrote many of popular film songs like Purab Aur Paschim, Shor ,Roti Kapda Aur Makan, Kranti, Prem Rog.
Early Life & Career
He was born on 5 March 1939 in sikanderabad district Bulandshahr. He started his career in 1970 with the film Purab Aur Paschim the soundtrack of this film was composed by Kalyanji anandji he wrote his favourite song Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai in 1972 film Shor he also provided lyrics for the film Roti Kapda Aur Makaan in 1974 and also duet ‘Main Na bhulunga’ sung by Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar Santosh Anand obtained his first Filmfare Award for Best lyricist for the film Roti Kapda Aur Makaan.
He penned songs for the film Kranti which is the highest-grossing Hindi film in 1981. The same year he penned songs Tera Saath Hai to, ‘Megha Re Megha Re’. In 1982 ‘Mohabbat Hai Kya’ chij he was awarded his second and last Filmfare Award for Best lyricist for this song. he has penned a total of 109 songs in 26 films.
