Rahat Indori Biography
Rahat Indori did his schooling from Nutan School, Indore from where he completed his Higher Secondary education. He completed his graduation from Islamia Karimia College Indore. He passed his MA in Urdu literature from Barkatullah University, Bhopal in the year 1975. He was awarded a Ph.D in Urdu literature from the Bhoj University of (MP) Madhya Pradesh in 1985 for his thesis titled Urdu Main Mushaira.
He started teaching Urdu literature in IK College, Indore. According to his students he was the best lecturer in the college. In between he became very busy with Mushairas and started receiving invitations from all over India and abroad. He became very popular among the masses as well the classes with his ability, hard work and a characteristic style of delivering Ashaar. He has recited his poetry in 100+ cities of Canada, USA, Germany, Pakistan, England, Middle East, Nepal and Bangladesh among others
He has also earned a name for himself in the Bollywood as well as a lyricist. He has written some of the most famous songs of Bollywood such as Khat likhna humein khat likhna, M bole to master, Koi jaye to le aye , Chori Chori Jab Nazrein Mili, Neend Churayee Meri and among various others. In his illustrious career, he has conferred with various awards.
Rahat Indori Family, Relatives and Other Relations
He was born to Maqbool Un Nisa Begum and Rafatullah Qureshi. He has 2 elder sisters named Taqreeb and Tehzib. He has an elder brother named Aquil and a younger brother named Adil. He has been married twice. He first married Seema Rahat on 27th May 1986. Together the couple had a daughter named Shibil and 2 sons named Faisal and Satlaj Rahat. He then married Anjum Rehbar. After few years of their marriage they both also separated.
Rahat Indori: Death
Rahat Indori took his last breathe on August 11th, 2020, at Aurobindo Hospital, Indore, after suffering two cardiac arrests at the age of 70 years. He tested COVID-19 positive a day before his death.

- Rahat Indori’s father was a cloth mill worker.
- He recited his first poetry at the age of 19.
- In addition to studies, he was also brilliant in extra curriculum activities like sports and was the captain of his Hockey and Football team during his school and college days.
- In spite of his busy timings, he manages to find some time for painting, as he has not given up his love of colours.
