Padmapriya Janakiraman Biography
Padmapriya Janakiraman better known mononymously as Padmapriya is an Indian film actress and model. she is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Padmapriya made her acting debut in the Telugu language film Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi in 2003. She appeared in a number of Malayalam and Tamil language films in a span of 5 years. She has appeared in nearly 50 films in South India and has received several awards. She is best known for her critically acclaimed performances in the Malayalam films karutha pakshikal Pazhassi Raja.
Early Life And Education
Padmapriya was born on 28 February 1983 in Delhi. She is 38 years old. She belongs to Punjabi Brahmin family; her father is Janki Raman, a Brigadier in the Indian army and a Tamil mother Vijaya and she was brought up in Punjab. She did her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya Trimulgherry Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh and studied at Loyola Academy Alwal,Secunderabad from which she graduated with a BCom Degree. Later she pursued an MBA degree in finance at KIAMS Harihar. She was the working for GE capital as a risk consultant in Bangalore and Gurgaon, after GE she was with Symphony in Bangalore during her free time. She ventured into modelling which would later paved her way to the film business in acting. She has also won Miss Andhra Pradesh in 2001 while studying in 12th class in Andhra Pradesh Padmapriya did a music album.
Padmapriya also holds a PG diploma in environmental law from National Law School of India University and Masters in public administration from New York University. Padmapriya is married to Jasmine Shah on 12 November 2014 at Mumbai who is from Gujarat and worked as a policy head for South Asia at Abdul Latif Jameel poverty action lab headquartered in Massachusetts of Technology. She met him while both were pursuing their Masters from Columbia in New York University.
Padmapriya Madar acting debut in 2003 Telugu film Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi, a remake of Malayalam film vasanthi. She played the role of a sexually exploited poor sister of a blind man in the film and says she accepted this offer for the sake of friendship. This made possible for entry into the Malayalam film industry in the same year starring in the film Kaazhcha alongside Mammootty.
In 2005 she acted in her first Tamil language film thavamai thavamirundhu a drama that deals with familial bond and a father son relationship in which she was paired opposite actor director Charan in 2006. She appeared in six films Next starred in the Tamil film in which she portrayed a sales girl at a garment company. In 2007 she had 7 releases; currently she is working on a half dozen and films which include her Hindi debut venture Striker opposite Siddharth Narayan Kannada debut film alongside Shivaraj Kumar.
Padmapriya is the only non Malayali heroine to shine as a leading heroine in Malayalam after 2000 she is the most versatile heroine of South India after 2000.
