Munawar Faruqui Biography
Munawar Faruqui was born to an Indian Muslim family in the city of Junagadh, Gujarat, on January 28, 1992. After his house was destroyed during the Gujarat sectarian riots in 2002, his family relocated to Mumbai, and his mother died shortly after, when he was just 16 years old.
When his father became ill, he was forced to labour for his family at the age of 17. While in school, he worked at a kitchenware shop.
He worked as a graphic designer in his early twenties. He got aware of humour in 2017, when several OTT channels were introduced in India, and he began working as a comedian.
He got famous after uploading a standup comedy video titled “Dawood, Yamraaj & Aurat” on his YouTube channel in April 2020. He released his first official video single, Jawab, in August 2020, in collaboration with Indian musician Spectra. He then proceeded to release eight hip-hop music videos.
He uploaded a standup comedy video titled “Ghost Story” on his YouTube channel on February 28, 2021.
He appeared in Kangana Ranaut’s reality television programme Lock Upp in 2022.
