Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party, was born on 22 November 1939 in Saifai village of Etawah district (Uttar Pradesh). Father’s name was Sughar Singh Yadav and mother’s name was Devi. He belongs to a farming family. Daihik Singh Yadav is number two among the five brothers. The name of the eldest brother is Singh and the names of the younger ones are Abhayram Singh Yadav, Rajpal Singh, and Kamala Devi. His cousin’s name is Ram Gopal Yadav, he is a professor by profession. His father wanted him to become a wrestler. In wrestling, Mulayam Singh Yadav impressed his political guru Chaudhary Nathusingh in an ongoing competition in Mainpuri. After this, he started his political journey from Jaswant Nagar, the assembly constituency of Nathusingh.
