Mohan delkar was an Indian politician who was elected 7 times as a member of Lok Sabha from Dadra and Nagar Haveli in the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. His full name was Mohan sanjibhai delkar. 

Early Life And Career

He was born on 19 December 1962 in Silvasa Dadra and Nagar Haveli. His wife is kalaban Mohanbhai Delkar and he has two children. Mohan bhai’s father Sanjibhai delkar was elected to Lok- Sabha from Dadra and Nagar Haveli in 1967 as Congress candidate joined Morarji Desai.

Mohan delkar had been part of Congress and Bharatiya Janata party at various times and he had also founded his own party for some period. Mohan delkar started his career as a trade union leader in silvassa and fought for the rights of tribal people working in different factories here. 

In 1989 he was elected to the 9th Loksabha from Dadar and Nagar Haveli constituency as an independent candidate. In 1991 and 1996 he was re-elected as an Indian National Congress candidate in 1998 he was again elected to the Lok Sabha as a Bhartiya Janata Party candidate in 1999 and 2004 he was again reelected to the Lok Sabha as an independent 

and the Bhartiya Navashakti Party candidate respectively. In 2019 distanced himself from the Congress Party and was elected as an independent politician. however in 2020 he joined the Janata Dal party. 

Death

Mohan delkar was found dead at sea Green Hotel at Marine Drive in Mumbai on 22 February 2021 he has reportedly left a suicide note written in the Gujarati language. He left his wife and two children behind him.
