K. Shivram Biograph!! Shivaramu Kempaiah is better known by name K. Shivramu, was an Indian Actor, Politician and Bureaucrat. Shivram is the 1st Kannadigar to pass the IAS exam in Kannada.

He was born on 6 April 1953 at Uragalli, Ramanagara District. Shivram father was a talented drama master late S. Kempaiah and mother Chikkaboramma. Having completed his primary schooling in his village, Shivram moved to Bangalore and studied high school at Malleshwaram Government School. During 1972, right after his high schooling, Shivram completed his Typing and Shorthand course both in English and Kannada and got into a government job. In May 1973, Shivram joined the Crime Investigation Department (India) as Police Reporter. While in service, he continued his studies and got Bachelor of Arts degree from V. V. Puram Evening College of Arts & Commerce.

Shivram got a Master of Arts (History) Degree through correspondence from the open university of Mysore in the year 1982. In 1985, Shivram cleared K.A.S. exam and was selected as Deputy superintendent of Police. In the year 1986, Shivram secured 1st rank among the Scheduled Caste community in Karnataka Administrative Service exam and got selected as Assistant commissioner of police (India). While Shivram was undergoing training at Karnataka Police Academy, Shivram cleared the civil services exam (UPSC) and was selected for I.A.S. which was his childhood dream. Shivram also holds the distinction of being the 1st person in India to clear the IAS Exam in the Kannada Language.

K Shivaram, a former IAS officer who ventured into acting and politics, passed away at a hospital in Bengaluru on Thursday at the age of 70. According to sources, he was hospitalized because of a heart attack and passed away without receiving treatment.

K. Sivaram, who made his debut in cinema in 1993, played the lead role in the film ‘Ba Nalle Madhuchandrake’ directed by Nagathyhalli. He showcased his talent in movies such as Vasant Kavya, Khalnayak, Sangliana-3, Pratanti, Yaarige Bede Duddu, Game for Love, and Tiger.

In 2013, K. Shivaram resigned from the IAS and opted for voluntary retirement to embark on his political journey. Shivaram affiliated himself with the Congress party and ran for the Vijayapur constituency in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, though he was unsuccessful. Subsequently, he switched allegiance to the BJP. Additionally, he served as the president of the Mahasabha.
