New Delhi:

Today (Friday), after 7 months, the Goods and Service Tax (GST) Council met. In the GST Council meeting, the finance minister of a non-BJP ruled state raised some issues. He said that GST should be abolished on the treatment, testing and accessories necessary for the treatment of COVID-19. He said that GST should be abolished on Coronavirus Vaccine. The tax relief given on medical grade oxygen, oxygen concentrators and oximeters should be increased by 31 March 2022.

In the meeting, he said that on the basis of the notification issued by the Ministry of Health , GST should be abolished on all medicines required for the treatment of Kovid. The GST Council should not consider fixing the tax rate on different medicines.
