The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold the re-examination for Class 10th mathematics and Class 12th Economics papers after reports of paper leak.Class 12th and Class 10th re-exam dates for the same shall be put up on the CBSE website within a week, the board said in a statement.

Meanwhile some teachers, parents and students are planning to move the Delhi High Court seeking re-exam and an independent probe on the leaks. The parents and students claim that even the class X Social studies and class XII biology papers were also leaked.

This change will affect more than 28 lakh students who are studying from a CBSE affiliated schools. A total number of 16,38,428 candidates had registered for class 10th exams and for class 12th, a total of 11,86,306 students had registered.

According to some reports, the all drama happed after the question paper of the Class 12th Economics
examination was illegally circulated on some WhatsApp groups a day before the paper.
The marking scheme for Economics was changed with the board bringing in practical component of 20 marks.

A senior CBSE official, said, "There has been no leakage of the question paper. All the seals have 
been found intact at all exam centres. However, at local level, some miscreants may have circulated 
messages through WhatsApp and other social media platforms to hurt the sanctity of the exam". 
"The board has decided to take strict action against such activities. An FIR is being lodged,"
 the official said.
