Ranbir Kapoor is an Indian Bollywood actor. He is one of the highest-paid actors of Hindi cinema.
About Him:
He was born on 28th September 1982. He was born in a Punjabi origin family. He has done his schooling from Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, Mumbai in Maharashtra and further pursued Method Acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. Before starting his acting career, Ranbir Kapoor seemed in two short films: “Passion to Love” and “India 1964”. He then started working with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali as an assistant. He assisted in the making of the film “Black”.
His Career:
In 2007, Ranbir Kapoor made his acting career debut with the film “Saawariya” opposite newcomer Sonam Kapoor. The film was directed by Bhansali, but unsuccessful to excel on the box office. However, Ranbir’s performance made him win the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for this film. In 2008, he was appeared in SiddharthAnand’s “BachnaAeHaseeno” alongside Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba and Deepika Padukone. The film was a semi-hit at the box-office.
In 2009, Ranbir Kapoor seen in three movies. The first release was AyanMukerji’s “Wake Up Sid”, in which he stared opposite Konkona Sen Sharma; the film was a commercial success. The second was “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani”, in which he starred together with Katrina Kaif. It was one of the largest hits of the year. The third was Shimit Amin’s “Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year”. These acting made him win Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor and he got nominated for Filmfare Best Actor Award too.
In 2010, Ranbir presented in Prakash Jha’s multi-starrer political thriller “Rajneeti”. The film was stated as a blockbuster at the box office. His performance was well achieved and it was his biggest commercial success film till date. The same year, he seemed in Siddharth Anand’s “Anjaana Anjaani” alongside Priyanka Chopra which was a fair box office success.
In 2011, Ranbir Kapoor featured in Imtiaz Ali’s “Rockstar” opposite newcomer Nargis Fakhri. His spectacular performance earned him a Best Actor award and Best Actor (Critics) award at the 57th Filmfare Awards. By now Ranbir had set himself as one of the leading modern-day actors of bollywood cinema.
In September 2012, Ranbir appeared in AnuragBasu’s “Barfi!” alongside Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz. The film obtained him outstanding reviews from critics and the audience adored him for his role as a deaf-mute boy. As of now, Ranbir Kapoor is scheduled to appear in Ayan Mukherjee’s “YehJawaniHaiDeewani”, AbhinavKashyap’s “Besharam” and AnuragKashyap’s “Bombay Velvet”,Ae dil hai mushkil in 2016 and Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju in 2018.
His Family:
Ranbir Kapoor is the son of yesteryears actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, and the grandson of renowned actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor. He have an elder sister, Riddhima and she is an interior and a fashion designer.
