In a twenty-year-old case of poaching blackbucks and chinkara, the final decision from the Jodhpur court is out. From the accused five celebrities which include Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari except for Salman Khan the remaining four got acquitted. However, the main accused of the poaching, Salman Khan received no sign of relief this time as the court punished him with five-year Jail along with 10,000 rupees fine for killing a rare species.

Twenty years-long trails

Back in 1998, while shooting for “Hum Saath Saath Hain,” the incident of poaching of Chinkara and Blackbucks took place. To which the Bishnoi villagers filled a complaint where they put the charge of killing on these celebrities. Since then the court hearing was going, and now the final verdict is out. 28 witnesses, in this case, gave their statement against the Salman Khan, while the rest actors got freed owning to no substantial evidence.

A day previous to it, these actors arrived the city for the final judgment along with their family members. Meanwhile, the Salman Khan’s lawyer filed a bail appeal as soon the court gave its verdict. The hearing on his bail appeal will be taking place on Friday. Before the hearing of his bail appeal occurs, he will be spending the night in the Jodhpur Jail. Most probably he will get the same barrack of Asha ram Bapu.

Reaction to the court’s judgment

Furthermore, the judgment of the court left his fan and family members devastated. The actor’s sister Arpita and Alvira broke down emotionally after the court’s decision. Many Bollywood related personalities showed their grief on the public platform and social media where they call it too harsh. It includes Jaya Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, and Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen. People from outside the industry showed mixed reaction to the judgment.
